I am officially working on my personal training certification(CFT). I will be training through International Sports Science Association (ISSA), a highly accredited and recognized organization.
The excitement that I feel right now is overwhelming. I have been considering this education for years now. The course work seems intense with lots studying and quizzes; however, ISSA seems super supportive. My best friend ,Joleen, and I will be working through the certification together.
Being a Beachbody Coach has inspired me to continue on with my dream. I love to see the positive attitude and results that many can achieve through physical fitness. It is amazing how many individuals have found support and success through Beachbody. I hope that my education and love of fitness will get me through this training program!!

DELICIOUS recipe
I found this under recipes in my beachbody meal planner! It was so good that I had to pass it along. I placed it on a small bed of wheat rice.

P90X Recovery Week
Shew! Made it through the first section with quite a few sore muscles here, there and everywhere, but I'm still loving it. Just added in the eating healthy, drinking lots of water, and SHAKEOLOGY. I feel FANTASTIC!! I wish that I had begun the clean eating regimen a bit sooner. Within just one week, I feel like a different person. I have alot more energy and need alot less coffee. (I know...I am truly trying to quit.)
Chocolate is my other addiction that I would pretty much die for on a daily basis; however, Shakeology diminishes that craving completely! WHOO HOO!
I am sure that everyday is going to be a struggle since I am working on 29 years of unhealthy habits. "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." I couldn't figure out why I could drink multiple glasses of coffee in one day and still have no energy. My body was screaming for help and I didn't notice it.
I must remember how good healthy feels AND..."KEEP PUSHING PLAY."

My first unassisted pull up...ladies and gentlemen
....and a whole lot of Tony Horton!!So....I have been doing P90x for approximately one month. I tried it out, on and off, for the first part of the month and then proceeded to get serious the last two weeks. To know me....I have the WEAKEST upper body known to man...and woman. I have been using bands the entire time because, honestly, I never thought I could do a real pull up. BTW, the bands offer a heck of a work out!!! Anyway, even in the best shape of my life, high school, a pull up was not ever happening. It is sad, really!
My mom, who is fit and fabulous, owns a pull up bar. Every time I try, the pull up results in me just hanging there and grunting. I visit her often and attempt to simply do just ONE pull up. Well, on May 31st, 2010....drum roll please.....I DID IT!!!!! I actually did two which included one in the morning and one in the evening. I cannot express how proud I am of myself.
Thank you P90x, Tony Horton, and Beachbody. Gotta love those results!!

Barefoot Running
On March 21, 2010 I ran my first half marathon barefoot. I had previously run one half marathon wearing New Balance running shoes. I, unfortunately, injured my knee so bad that I could not run for over two years. It was awful.
After doing a great deal of research, I decided it was time to try something different. I discovered the book, "Born to Run" by Christopher Mcdougall, which changed my life. McDougall states 8 out of 10 runners are injured PER YEAR in this country. That is interesting considering we have a great deal of knowledge in sports medicine, podiatry, and top of the line running shoes. In the book, Born to Run, Mr. McDougall discovers a Tarahumara Indian who won a hundred mile foot race in the Rocky Mountains at 55 years old in a pair of sandals. He traveled to the Copper Canyons of Mexico and discovered a whole tribe of Indians who run hundreds of miles wearing sandals without any running injuries clear into their late life. This book is a must read if you are interested in running!!
I bought my first pair of Vibram Five Fingers and in November 2010 began my training for another half marathon. It turned out to be a success. I completed 13.1 miles 6 minutes faster than my last time and walked away injury free!!
My advice to you is do your research and see if barefoot running fits your lifestyle
